THAI’s further fuel surcharge reduction

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited has introduced further reductions to its fuel surcharge for its domestic and international routes in addition to a previous announced cut in October.

Mr. Pandit Chanapai, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Commercial Department announces that effective from 6 November 2008, there will be a further reduction on average of 30% on all international routes, while the fuel surcharge on THAI’s domestic routes will be lowered to THB 700  from THB 750 per flight.

THAI together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and others tourism sector have joined force to carry out massive advertising and publicity campaign to demonstrate that Thailand continues to be a superlative travel destination. The further reduction of fuel surcharge will support Thailand’s tourism by motivating inbound traffic and increase number of overseas visitors to all part of the country during the peak period.

With the fleet of 81 aircraft, THAI will continue to enhance its global route operation. Most of the aircraft have been refurbished with increased seat comfort and a wide variety of in flight entertainment programmes.  Improvements have been made on all aspects of customer service to appeal not only to premium class but to economy class passengers as well.

International Flights:

Fuel surcharge rate of USD 25.00 per sector (From USD 41.00) , on the return routes Bangkok-Ho Chi Minh City v.v., Bangkok-Hanoi v.v., Bangkok-Vientiene v.v., Bangkok-Phnom Penh v.v., Bangkok-Penang v.v., Bangkok-Yangon v.v., including the return routes between Hong Kong-Taipei v.v., Dubai-Kuwait v.v., Karachi-Muscat v.v., Chiang Mai-Kunming v.v., and the route between Bodhgaya-Varanasi v.v.

Fuel surcharge rate of USD 45.00 per secter (From USD 67.00) , on the return route Bangkok-Singapore v.v., Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur v.v., Bangkok-Hong Kong v.v., For the return route reducing from USD 72.00 are Bangkok-Kunming v.v., Bangkok-Guangzhou v.v., Bangkok-Dhaka v.v., Bangkok-Kolkata v.v., Bangkok-Chittagong v.v., including the route between Taipei-Seoul v.v.

For domestic flights, THAI will collect a fuel surcharge rate of THB 700 per sector, excluding the route Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son v.v. sector remain unchanged, charge THB 600 per sector.

I vettori di Taiwan tagliano le fuel surcharge

China Airlines, Eva Airways e altri vettori di Taiwan hanno ottenuto il permesso di tagliare la fuel surcharge del 20% in ragione della diminuzione del costo del greggio.
Le fee per i voli verso Australia, Nuova Zelanda e mete in altri continenti saranno ridotte di 19,50 dollari a 78 dollari, mentre le fee per voli di corto raggio saranno ridotte di 7,50 dollari a 30 dollari. Il cambiamento sarà effettivo dal 10 settembre.

Thai Airways increases Fuel Surcharges; to Suspend Bangkok-New York Flights

Thai Airways International is adjusting its fuel surcharge on international and domestic flights, effective 25 June 2008, due to the massive increases in the price of jet fuel.

The company has adjusted its fuel surcharge for international and domestic flights, calculated on all classes of passenger travel on THAI flights and air tickets issued by THAI’s sales and ticketing offices worldwide, which is based on the policy agreed upon by the Civil Aviation Department for commercial airlines and includes agreements with other countries, as follows:

Impose the fuel surcharge rate of US$ 60 per sector, on the return routes: Bangkok-Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok-Hanoi, Bangkok-Vientiane, Bangkok-Phnom Penh, Bangkok-Penang, Bangkok-Yangon, Hong Kong-Taipei, Dubai-Kuwait, Chiang Mai-Kunming, and the route between Bodhgaya-Varanasi.

US$ 75 per sector, on the return routes Bangkok-Singapore and Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur.

US$ 90 per sector, on the return routes: Bangkok-Kunming, Bangkok-Guangzhou, Bangkok-Dhaka, Bangkok-Kolkata, Bangkok-Brunei, Bangkok-Hong Kong, Bangkok-Chittagong, including the route between Taipei-Seoul.

US$ 105 per sector, on the return routes: Bangkok-Bangalore, Bangkok-Hyderabad, Bangkok-Chennai, Bangkok-Bodhgaya, Bangkok-Varanasi, Bangkok-Jakarta, Bangkok-Manila, Bangkok-Chengdu, Bangkok-Colombo, Bangkok-Kathmandu, Bangkok-Xiamen, Bangkok-Hyderabad, Bangkok-Taipei, Manila-Osaka and Hong Kong-Seoul.

US$ 185 per sector, on the return routes: Bangkok-Melbourne, Bangkok-Sydney, and Bangkok-Brisbane.

US$ 210 per sector, on the return routes: Bangkok-Auckland, Bangkok-Munich, Bangkok-Milan, Bangkok-Rome, Bangkok-Athens, Bangkok-Copenhagen, Bangkok-Stockholm, Bangkok-Zurich, Bangkok-Moscow, Bangkok-Johannesburg and Bangkok-Frankfurt.

US$ 230 per sector, on the return routes: Bangkok-London, Bangkok-Paris and Bangkok-Madrid.

US$ 281 per sector, on the return route Bangkok-New York and Bangkok-Los Angeles.

The airline will suspend its flights on the return route Bangkok-New York, effective 1 July 2008.

As for domestic flights on all sectors, Thai Airways will collect a fuel surcharge rate of THB 850 per sector, excluding the route Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son whereby THB 600 will be collected per sector.
