Saranno le straordinarie new entry che hanno inaugurato l’anno le protagoniste della presenza Thai Airways a GLOBE08: la compagnia di bandiera thailandese parteciperà alla seconda edizione della fiera dal 13 al 15 marzo presso il padiglione 2, corsia 4, stand 077 per illustrare le ultime importanti operazioni commerciali al mercato del Centro – Sud Italia.

Tra le novità commerciali Thai Airways in primo piano a Globe08, il lancio dell’esclusiva Royal First Class anche sui voli da Milano Malpensa a partire dal prossimo 31 marzo, in concomitanza con l’introduzione del nuovo Airbus A340-600 che duplicherà allo stesso tempo la disponibilità di posti in business class.
“Arricchiamo inoltre il network di scelta per i nostri passeggeri con il lancio del nostro primo collegamento Bangkok – Koh Samui aperto lo scorso 15 febbraio - proseguono i Direttori Commerciali Italia – fino a questo momento esclusiva Bangkok Airways. Se la scorsa estate abbiamo trasportato oltre 2.200 passeggeri in partenza dall’Italia per raggiungere l’isola, le proiezioni incoraggianti che abbiamo ad oggi ci permettono di prevedere un ottimo riscontro sulla destinazione, tra le più ambite in Thailandia per il periodo Aprile – Ottobre, tale da farci considerare già un possibile incremento di frequenze a partire dalle due attuali”.

Thai Airways annuncia il lancio del suo primo collegamento Bangkok-Koh Samui a partire dal 15 febbraio 2008. «Si tratta di una tappa di importanza fondamentale nell’ottica di espansione del network Thai Airways - commenta Pandit Chanapai, Thai Airways international executive vice president, commercial department –. Il lancio della nuova rotta risponde pienamente alla nostra strategia di consolidamento del turismo interno in Thailandia, soprattutto tenendo conto del fatto che Koh Samui è tra le mete di punta del Paese. Il nuovo collegamento risulterà congeniale in particolar modo a tutti i passeggeri Thai provenienti dall’Europa in arrivo al Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, e che potranno ora godere della classe e della convenienza Thai Airways per proseguire verso l’isola con ottime connessioni». Il collegamento sarà operato due volte al giorno con B737- 400 configurato con 137 posti in economy class e 12 in Royal Silk Class. Salgono così a quota 12 le rotte domestiche operate dalla compagnia di bandiera, di cui quattro nella Thailandia del Sud. «La perla del Golfo di Thailandia è l’ultima delle molte rotte aperte ultimamente dalla compagnia - dichiarano Stefano Vurchio, direttore commerciale nord Italia, e Armando Muccifora, direttore commerciale centro sud Italia –. Bangkok, Thailand. 12 February 2008. Thai Airways International Public Company Limited today announced it will start commercial flights, for the first time, to the popular southern resort island of Samui.

THAI’s Boeing 737-400 aircraft, capable of carrying 149 passengers (12 on Royal Silk Class / 137 on Economy Class) will start the twice daily service on 15 February, 2008. The schedule will be:

According to Mr. Pandit Chanapai, THAI’s Executive Vice President, Commercial Department, said the new route supports the Thai government’s policy to promote inbound and domestic tourism, particularly to the southern and outer island resorts. THAI expects up to 70 percent of passengers into Samui on its flights to be from overseas. It fits with our policy of “First Flight, Full Flight, Every Flight..

“This is a breakthrough for THAI. Samui is a premier destination. We aim to make the route very competitive by marketing it to tourists from major European cities currently served by THAI connecting through Suvanarbhumi Airport. In addition, THAI’s policy is to expand its network and connections in order to provide seamless travel and convenience for its passengers,” Mr Chanapai said.

Special Royal Orchid Holidays [ROH] packages, including a wide range of packages and products, will be offered to travelers. These include selection of twenty hotels in Samui and two hotels in Pha Ngan plus 11 optional tours to the popular Ang Thong Marine National Park and Koh Tao.

BANGKOK: — Thai Airways International (Thai) will inaugurate daily Bangkok-Samui flights on February 15, according to Chaisak Angkasuwan, director-general of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).

Mr. Chaisak said the DCA on Thursday morning met executives of the national flag carrier and Bangkok Airways, a private firm which owns Samui airport.

After the meeting, he told journalists that starting from mid-February, Thai Airways would offer passengers two flights a day from Suvarnabhumi airport to Samui airport.

The opening of the new route is in line with the policy of the Transport Ministry to give more alternatives to passengers.

The airfare is expected to be similar to that currently offered by Bangkok Airways.

The new route is expected to be popular among foreign tourists as they will be able to travel by a direct flight from Suvarnbhumi to Samui’s tourist destinations in the southern province of Surat Thani.
